The biggest reason in my eyes golfers really have not improved lies in how and what they practice. If golfers learn how to practice more effectively, then they will learn how to play better golf. Continuously practicing ineffectively only creates issues on the golf course. Not starting out building a golf swing with some solid concepts only leads golfers down the road of frustration and inconsistent scores. For those who have been playing for a long time, having a golf coach will help you improve your overall golf skills. Why? Because golf coaches are trained to improve and enhance golf skills.
Here is one solution to start building a better golf swing and quality of impact by using a very versatile tool – The Swinkey. What I have done here is created a situation that will allow a student to obtain ongoing feedback in the swing. It starts by building consistency in their set-up by ensuring constant ball position, shaft lean, and posture. Those are some of many parts of building the starting blocks to groove a better golf swing. It also is a area that most amateurs really struggle with since they rarely practice this correctly.
Another aspect that can be seen in the picture is the alignment rod sticking up from the Swinkey on my left hand side. This rod positioned here helps me work on my swing plane. It won’t allow me suck the club to far to the inside on my backswing or drop it way inside on the downswing. Having a good swing direction plays a important role in control the curvature of the ball.
I’ve made a previous post about how I like to use lie boards but I’ll go through it again for those who maybe have not seen it yet. These lie boards are great to help golfers gain a better understanding in getting the club to come into the golf ball on a better angle of attack. Creating a better angle of attack is one of many aspects in creating compression between the club and ball.
Now to compact this problem of golfers continuously practicing ineffectively, I’ve created some unique golf programs that will allow golfers to come and improve their golf swing by having a complete golf training program designed for them. Be monitored by a trained golf coach dedicated to improving golfers score better. Also train with some of the industries best golf swing analysis software such as TrackMan golf. This comprehensive golf coaching program is one of the best programs in the area because of how holistic it is.

Playing consistent golf is more then just trying to develop a good looking golf swing. Golf as a whole, requires individual skills sets in the grand scheme of things. Golf as the game, can easily be broken down into these categories:
- Tee ball
- Shots played from the ground
- Scoring clubs
- Specialty shots
- Full Swing
- Around the green
- Recovery shots
- Course management
- Mental game
In each of these categories golfers have various skill levels. The key to improving your scores is finding out which skills you need help with. Retaining the services of a certified golf coach will not only help you figure that out, but will help you improve them. To often golf lessons focus just on swing mechanics. They spent to much time trying to build the most picture perfect swing on video. Clearly if you have been following golf since it’s creation, you would see that no two touring professionals have ever swung the same. They have developed certain essential skills in their swing to control the moment of impact, which in return, controls the flight of the golf ball.
In the following blogs I’ll be discussing these categories more and sharing some insights that will help you develop skills necessary to become skillful in those categories. You may not need to read or even follow all of them but I’m very certain that you do need help in a some categories.
